Halcyon Days Lords Marylbone Cricket Club Enamel Box

This enamel box from Halcyon Days celebrates the world-famous MCC at Lords Cricket ground. The original painting is by Henry Barraud, renowned for his animal portraits. The painting dates from the early 1870s and shows members of the Marylebone Cricket Club outside the pavilion at Lords. Look out for legendary cricketer W.G. Grace and the future King Edward VII. The base of the box is a painted in a tonal rich shade, and there’s a gleaming gilt rim. Crafted in Bilston, once the heart of Britain’s enamelling industry, the rectangular box was made using the traditional technique of enamel on copper. Limited edition of 100 Length: 84mm
