This striking Halcyon Days enamel box features the painting “Billy Boys” by the popular Scottish artist, Jack Vettriano. Taken from his 1994 painting, the image is in Vettriano’s signature red, orange and black shades, and shows four male figures walking across a beach. It was inspired by the 1994 oil painting by Jack Vettriano, and the name refers to a 1920s Scottish gang. The rectangular box is made in Bilston, once the heart of British enamelling craft. Halcyon Days boxes are manufactured from copper with an enamel coating. This traditional technique enhances the colours of the painting. The box has a gilt trim and a matching, brown base.
