This beautiful enamel box by Halcyon Days features a miniature version of Jack Vettriano’s famous painting, Midnight Blue. The Scottish artist is known for his elegant figures and bold, pared-down palette. Here we see two people on deck by the water, against the dark, velvety sky that gives the painting its name. The base is in a matching shade of rich dark blue, contrasting with the bright gilt rim. The square box is made in Bilston, once the centre of British enamelling.
